In 2008 John and the band were recognized by the International Polka
Association and won awards for the “CD of the Year” for their current
recording BULLETPROOF POLKAS and IPA “Song of the Year” for the
song “Kiss of Fire”.
The band has performed throughout Canada, the USA, Europe and
even cruised through the Caribbean performing at various festivals,
dances and special events.
2008 Gammy Nominees, Jerry Darlak and the Touch, are one of the nation's
premier polka bands featuring Polka Hall of Fame musicians Jerry Darlak
and Mike Nowakowski along with Ken Machelski, Ray Barsukiewicz,
Ricky Pijanowski and the infamous Tadj!
Anya was born in Glogow, Poland. Since the age of four, she has worked
day and night to make the dream of becoming a professional singer come
true. She leaves nothing to chance, spending hours writing, working
with a vocal coach and discussing music philosophy and the business
itself with her managers and record label. At the Festival she will be
entertaining you by singing popular songs like: Yesterday, Hotel
California, My Funny Valentine, and more, in the Polish language.
The Kujawiacy Polish Song & Dance Ensemble formed in May of 1992,
is working hard in developing authentic and artistic Polish Cultural
Entertainment. Kujawiacy, meaning inhabitants of the Kujawy Region
of Poland, was incorporated into Kitchener's multicultural entertainment
scene, by a small group of youthful, optimistic, Canadians of Polish
descent, eager to learn, cultivate, promote and preserve the folk
traditions of their ancestors. Kujawiacy holds an annual Children’s
Festival where groups from Ontario, other provinces and New York State
attend. The Kujawiacy Ensemble has traveled around Ontario, the United
States and even to festivals in Poland. The Artistic Director is
Margaret Sowa and the President is Urszula Kudla.
The Sugar & Jazz Orchestra is a youth band that plays the music of the
big band era under the direction of Frank Lorango. The band is made up
of young people from the Western New York area whose ages are 12 to 17.
Retirees are also Welcome to join. Our performances have taken us to many
places. We have performed at all the major hotels in and around Western
New York and Canada. We have played as far away as California and Florida.
Of course, we play the music that memories are made from, "The Music of
the Big Band Era."
The Polish Canadian Folk Choir "Ludowa Nuta" of Hamilton Ontario has been
performing since October of 2005. The group consists of 45 enthusiasts of
Polish folk music and has delighted audiences in both Canada and the United
States with over 60 performances to date. Acclaimed for it's authenticity,
energy and enthusiasm, the Choir is ready to enhance the
2009 Polish Heritage Festival!
Harmony Polish Folk Ensemble is Western New York's largest Polish-
American cultural and dance ensemble. In an effort to provide families
with a culturally enriching experience, we formed this community folk
dance group, centrally located and open to all ages from pre-school to
senior citizen. We currently have some of the most highly trained
Polish folk dance choreographers in Buffalo. Among our ensemble
members are multiple families spanning several generations.
The Mon Valley's Newest Polka Sensation! The Push caters to polka fans
of all ages. They perform older polka standards as well as more upbeat
"EXTREME PUSH" polkas for the younger fans. You won't want to miss
the Push's crowd pleasing Dueling Horns and light show!
A childrens' show that will be sure to entertain your children or
your grandchildren, with music and songs that will be educational!
They will even learn a little Polish and have fun too!
